The Perfect Easter Basket Ideas

Easter has always been closely associated with the coming of spring. Each year, near the beginning of April, the world becomes draped in pastels — from home and store decorations to the fields of blooming tulips. But while the adults wait for Easter to bring warm weather, children wait for it to bring something else — Easter baskets! Though the first Easter basket is believed to have appeared over 1,000 years ago, it wasn’t until the 18th century that the modern tradition of Easter baskets began. This year, let the kids, and adults in your life enjoy this two-century-old tradition by giving them these one of a kind Easter baskets.

For Kids

The Disney Lover

Whether you decide to pick one Disney princess, or incorporate all the magic of Disney, make sure to include plenty of new outfits for dress-up time, princess dolls, colorful nail polish, and Disney themed candy.

The Baseball Fan

If your son or daughter loves all things baseball, fill their basket with everything they need to go pro, like new balls, a personalized water bottle, glove, and baseball cards. And while every Easter basket needs some candy, don’t forget to also throw in some baseball snack staples, like sunflower seeds, popcorn, jerky, and cracker jacks.

Summer Fun

If your little one is still a bit too young for candy, there are still plenty of ways you can celebrate the Easter fun with them. Fill their basket with toys that will entertain them all summer long, like bubbles, a shovel, and pail for those upcoming beach days, pool toys, and their favorite travel snacks.

Mom’s Little Baker

Is your little one always helping out in the kitchen? Give them a basket full of the kid-friendly versions of some of your favorite cooking and baking utensils. You can also throw in a personalized apron and chef’s hat to really make them feel like a pro.

For Easter Celebrations

Now that the kids are enjoying their new toys and candy, it’s time for the adults to open their baskets! If you’re going to be celebrating Easter with friends and family, bring a little something for everyone with an Easter basket filled with sweet treats. If you’re going to be making your own basket, make sure to include these essentials:

Wine

Red wines like Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon pair perfectly with Easter favorites, like lamb, fish, and ham. If your guests or hostess is more of a white wine drinker, Chardonnay will pair well with seafood and cheese appetizers.

Candy

The kids shouldn’t be the only ones enjoying the candy this Easter. Surprise your guests with a little blast from the past, and pack a basket full of your favorite retro and childhood candies.

Chocolates

No Easter celebration would be complete without plenty (and we mean plenty!) of chocolate bunnies and eggs. Whether you decide on white, dark, or milk chocolate, just make sure there is no shortage of sweets!

Fresh fruit

Celebrate this Easter with deliciously fresh fruit that is perfectly on theme. If you’ve already been baking, cooking, and decorating, let us handle the fruit! With an array of cantaloupe, honeydew, strawberries, and chocolate covered bunny made out of fruit, this appetizer is sure to be a crowd favorite.
