Top 6 Food Halloween Costumes for Couples

The time has come once again to plan the perfect Halloween costume! Whether you’ll be entering a costume contest, attending a Halloween party, or just dressing up to go trick-or-treating, we know how much thought goes into finding the right outfit. That said, this year we encourage you to consider a couple’s costume that you can wear with a friend, a significant other or your spouse! Specifically, here’s what we had in mind:

Fruit Salad

Not only can you use this as a couples costume, but if you have more than one couple wanting to join in on the fun or some other friends who’d like to get involved, you can do so much with this! Some fruits to consider are strawberries, bananas and grapes, although we’re sure you can get creative with apples, oranges and the like too. Strawberry/banana tends to be a popular combination, so for this example we’ll stick with those fruits – whoever chooses to be the strawberry will just need a red shirt with some black cut out seeds glued on, as well as a green hat to symbolize the stem! The banana is even easier – you’ll just need a yellow top and a green/yellow hat to use for the stem too!

Peanut Butter and Jelly

Who doesn’t love peanut butter and jelly? It’s such a classic sandwich that anyone is sure to recognize what you are right away, and it’s a really simple costume to make! If you’re the DIY type, you can make your own costume using poster board and markers – just draw a piece of bread on one side, color it in accordingly depending on which half of the sandwich you are, and hang it over your shirt!

Bacon and Eggs

If you tend to prefer breakfast food over anything else, look into a bacon and egg costume! For this idea you can even recruit some other couples to join you so that you can portray an entire breakfast meal – for example, the second couple can be pancakes and maple syrup! And if you have a third, how about chicken and waffles?

Ketchup and Mustard

Are you someone that puts ketchup on just about everything? If so, grab a friend or partner and take the condiment route this Halloween! This costume idea is also pretty easy to make yourself if you’d prefer to DIY – you’ll just need one red shirt, one yellow shirt, and some paper that you can draw the ketchup and mustard logos on!

Milk and Cookies

Or, if you want to get super creative, have one person dress up as the cookie monster and the other dress up as the cookie! Then for all of your pictures, don’t forget to have the cookie monster in a position where it looks like he/she is taking a bite.

Salt and Pepper

Another two that go hand-in-hand! For this costume select one person to dress up in all black, and then have the other person dress up in all white. To complete the look, get an “S” and a “P” that you can iron onto your shirts so that others can easily identify what you are!

Do you have another food pairing that would work well as a Halloween costume? A few others that we can think of are chips and salsa, hotdogs and hamburgers, and M&Ms, but if you have a different idea, we’d love to hear it!

For those of you attending a Halloween party dressed up as food, don’t forget to think about what you’ll bring to thank the host! While Halloween is typically associated with candy, another great idea is to bring a Halloween themed fruit bouquet - we’re confident that everyone who attends will love it!
